2016 autoprint fine coat 80
The Autoprint Fine Coat 80 is an offline sheet-fed Flexo Rotary Automatic UV and Aqueous Coater, equipped with UV and IR dryers. It can perform full or flood coating, spot coating, and spot-not window coating with both UV-based and water-based (aqueous) coatings. The machine features a 3-roller coating system, including a chrome-plated Anilox roller and a doctor blade, similar to a chamber doctor, for enhanced control of the UV varnish solution. It operates on a letterpress dry offset principle with a 2-cylinder system.
The first cylinder functions as both a plate and blanket cylinder. A blanket is used for full or flood coating, while a flexo or photopolymer plate is used for spot coating. Spot-not window coating is achieved by using stripped blankets in areas where coating is not needed. This type of coating is especially useful for pharmaceutical carton manufacturers to avoid coating on areas intended for coding and pasting. The machine is a brand-new, dedicated coater with specially designed grippers, a stainless steel coating unit, and other components designed to withstand the highly corrosive nature of UV varnish solutions.
This makes it far superior and more advantageous in the long run compared to used or converted coaters. Why take the risk with a converted coater when you can get a brand-new machine with a combined warranty for both the machine and the dryer at a marginal cost difference? The dryer unit also comes with a one-year warranty on spare parts and a 1000-hour replacement warranty for the UV and IR lamps. The lamps and reflectors are of high quality, imported from Germany. As of March 2017, Autoprint has installed more than 250 Fine Coat 80 machines in leading pharmaceutical and packaging companies across India and abroad.
The machine can handle paper weights ranging from 60 gsm chromo art mirror-coated labels up to 450 gsm board, with sizes up to 22” x 32”. The maximum speed is 5000 sheets per hour, making it ideal for large packaging printers as well as for starting a job work unit for UV coating, aqueous coating, spot coating, and other post-press processes in a location that serves a cluster of printers. It is an ideal upgrade solution to replace conventional manual or auto-feed roller coaters and older dryers.
In addition to packaging, UV coating is becoming increasingly popular among publishing houses, where it is gradually replacing lamination for book covers. Lamination is a slower process that cannot match the production speed of offset presses. Issues with creasing on book covers are also eliminated by using creasable varnishes and the proper creasing tools in the perfect binding unit.
